Hi there dear soul!
Are you feeling overwhelmed and in need of some TLC? I completely understand! There's a lot of expectations on our shoulders these days - the world is constantly busy and many of the tasks placed on us are due to very unrealistic timeframes. There's something that's always wanting your attention and often that 'something' is loud....abrupt.....with the tone of 'do this now!'.
Unfortunately, the very thing that needs your attention the most is often the most quiet - your self. Your body takes on a lot, your mind scrambles to make sense of it all, and your spirit just patiently waits hoping it'll one day feel fulfilled. So let's try to listen up more and create a self-care ritual that ensures there's a nice healthy balance between your own needs and the needs of the day.
Self-care is like a soothing balm for the soul, replenishing your spirit and restoring balance to your life.
To try to keep this short (because I know you're busy!), I've created five super easy tips to help you create a self-care routine that's perfect for you. So grab a cup of tea, cozy up, and let's get started!
5 easy tips for creating a self-care ritual:
Start Small:Â When it comes to self-care, it's all about baby steps. Don't feel like you have to overhaul your entire routine overnight. Start small by incorporating just one self-care activity into your day. Whether it's a five-minute meditation, a quick walk around the block, or even just a few deep breaths, every little bit counts. If you're after a quick pick-me-up, I have some really effective meditations on the Eringy Wellness YouTube channel you might want to have a look at.
Find What Sparks Joy: Self-care isn't one-size-fits-all – it's about finding what works for you. Take some time to explore different activities and see what brings you joy and relaxation. Maybe it's curling up with a good book, indulging in a bubble bath, or getting creative with some arts and crafts. Whatever it is, make sure it lights you up inside.
Make it a Habit:Â They say it takes 21 days to form a habit, so why not make self-care a regular part of your routine? Set aside dedicated time each day or week for your self-care ritual, and stick to it like glue. Whether it's first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, or before bed, consistency is key.
Create a Relaxing Environment: Set the stage for your self-care ritual by creating a calming environment. Dim the lights, light some candles, play your favorite music – whatever helps you relax and unwind. The goal is to create a peaceful oasis where you can escape from the stresses of everyday life.
Be Kind to Yourself: Last but certainly not least, be kind to yourself throughout this process. Self-care isn't about perfection – it's about showing yourself some much-needed love and compassion. If you miss a day or don't stick to your routine perfectly, that's okay! Give yourself grace and remember that tomorrow is a new day.
Remember, self-care isn't selfish – it's essential. So go ahead, prioritise yourself and watch as your well-being flourishes.
You deserve it!
